Change Notification

Poor man's RSS

Some of my favorite web sites still have not entered the wondrous world of RSS.

With Internet Explorer 5 and higher I can still be notified of changes.

1. Make the site one of your Favorites (Favorites>Add to Favorites)
   
2. Select Favorites>Organize Favorites and highlight the Web site you want to follow
   
3. Right mouse click on the selection and select Properties from the context menu
   
4. Check "Make this page available offline"
   
5. After it has synchronized go back to the Favorites menu
   
6. Right mouse click on the selection and select Properties from the context menu
   
7. Choose the "Download" tab from the Properties box, click "when this page changes, send email to:"
   
8. Enter your email address and mail server (SMTP)
   
9. Click OK.
