Explorer Detail Pages

ALMOST a neat detail

There is a way to see the number of pages in a document without opening the file.

Open Windows Explorer:

  1. Navigate to a folder where the document files are stored.
  2. On the View menu, select Details.
  3. Right click one of the default column headers (Name, Size or Type).
  4. Click on More at the bottom of the list.
  5. In the Choose Details dialog box, scroll down and check Pages.
  6. Click OK.

The problem is Pages will only work correctly if you first open the document and look at File>Properties or Tools>Word Count and then Save the file.
If changes are made, that action must be repeated.

Note that there are 32 detail columns you can display for this view:
  • Dimensions of image files
  • The date and time that a digital photo was taken,
  • The author of a Word or Excel file,
  • The artist and album name for some music files.
